Helen 20th February 2017

We met in 1998, Münster Germany, when Rosemary did my maternity cover at Oxford School. The beautiful Lucy was born and was instantly loved by us all. You enabled Tony and I to continue to nights out and attend mess functions "bring her here", you would say, and we did!! Lucy played table football from a very early age! You were the chief babysitters for the first 12 months of her life and we were hooked into an everlasting friendship. We were posted to England but we were constantly in touch. Rosie had to keep me informed of the latest news from 'stitch and bitch club' and our telephone conversations were never ending. We seized on every opportunity to meet up together especially when the delightful Katie arrived. Their early memories of shopping with Uncle Chris and Auntie Rosemary will live with them for ever. Mum and Dad saying no you are not buying all that rubbish and Uncle Chris with a twinkle in his eye saying it is their spending money let them get it. I remember the day we bought so much in Woolworths that we couldn't carry it all home! Memories were made with days out in Cromer, Diss, Dorchester and Bournemouth. Lots of Coca Cola and ice cream shared! We were all sad to lose our special lady, as she really was one in a million, but you we're determined to keep her memories alive! And we did! The fun times continued! Just the 5 of us or as the girls got older just the 3 of you. You were always there to listen, to share the good and not so good times, to show that you cared about us all. It breaks my heart to know that we won't be with your family and friends tomorrow, to say our goodbyes, surrounded by both families and all your friends. Trust me to go and have a heart attack and not be able to travel! But we know you will say "it's alright mate!" Everyone will be our thoughts and prayers tomorrow and always. It will be a very difficult day saying goodbye to a true 'hero' but I am sure that you will be smiling down on everyone. Being re-united with your true love must be amazing and we know that you will both have great plans afoot! Until we meet again.... All our love forever Helen, Tony, Lucy and Katie (Armstrong - Dorchester, Dorset)
