Thoughts

This year is the first in the 30 years I have known Chris that his annual letter and Christmas card did not drop through our door on the 1st December. We were so shocked to read this memorial to a true Gentlemen. How we laughed our way through our Paymaster Course and first tours in the job in Germany. I sent an e mail to Diss Salvation Army to find out where Chris had got to - this unexpected news has really knocked us for six. Thoughts go out to all his close friends and relatives. Anyone will be missed but in Chris's case I have no doubt that his family adored him, the most selfless person I have had the pleasure to call a friend. Bob and Mo Brown - Yorkshire

Chris, so many people are so sorry to have lost you. We are all united in our shock and sadness. Thank you for all the love, support and guidance you and Rosie shared with me, Luke, Paul and Carly. Thanks too for being such a caring brother to Mum and a good friend to Dad, not to mention a loving son to Mama. When I think of you I mostly think of your amazing ability to be positive, to focus your incredible energy on what you wanted to achieve, your extraordinary kindness and how we could always rely on you to keep your sense of humour and make others laugh. We had so many good times growing up, in Germany and in Colchester. I was so excited by our trip to Berlin, that helped to foster my love of travel. More recently Carly and I enjoyed our trips to the theatre, our group meals, and having you join us at Xmas. Snoring and all! I will always be particularly grateful for your help and interest when I ran my one and only marathon. If I could give this to you to add to your tally I would gladly. With much love, your niece, Lisa x

Chris you will be missed by many people as you were always there for them. Just because you are out of sight does not mean your are out of mind as you have slipped away into the next room where I am sure you will be taking care of everyone to the best of your ability. Thank you for your friendship in my darkest hours.. May you rest in peace which you deserve and have earned. Fondest memories, Gaynor.
