When I heard the sad news I sat down and thought of the first time that I set eyes on Chris. A fresh-faced 17 year old Euphonium player just out of Boy service. That was almost fifty years ago and we were to share many happy times together over the following years doing what we both loved best, playing music. In the early 80's, Martin and I were to have some wonderful weekend breaks with Chris and Rose in a number of the capital cities of Europe. Happy times.
